I tried dof on my old scene with chess. I know materials are quite bad, but i don't have enough patience yet to remake it..

i used 3dsmax 9 and vray, then i added background in photoshop, and also some color balance and dof.

Nice work! The materials on the chessboard are nice but the ones on the pieces could have used some more work indeed. Nice work on the DOF!

the depth of field, as in the plane or line of focus does not make sense..
otherwise a good job done..

and the pieces are set up wrong, the black queen should be on a black square.. the white side is positioned right.. and the position of the hands should be the same for a game that has not started.
